Research Notes

In 1920, 35-year-old Allen T. Weeks lived in New Bedford, but was married to 29-year-old Alma, b. PA, father in PA, mother in NJ. Is Alma the same person as Eleanor? There were no children living with them.

On April 17 1924, Elenor Tenny Weeks, b. Jan. 29 1892 arrived at the port of NY, traveling alone. She lived at "18 Lincoln Street Mass."

From the Boston Herald, Feb 21, 1925, p. 2,

Boston Man Divorced By French Tribunal
Paris, Feb. 20---A divorce was granted here today to Mrs. Eleanor Tenney Weeks from Allen T. Weeks of Boston, both giving Paris addresses. They were married in Plainfield, N. J. in 1910.
The ground given for the divorce was the husband's refusal to resume living with his wife.
According to the Social Register, Allen Taber Weeks and his wife, the former Eleanor Tenney of Boston, last lived at 18 Lincoln street, New Bedford, having made that their residence for a number of years. Mr. Weeks, whose occupation is given in the New Bedford directory as a salesman, is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, class of 1908. He received his degree as a mechanical engineer.

She returned to the Port of Providence, RI, on July 25, 1925.

I can find no records of her after 1925.
