Stephen Terry died 19 Dec 1769 in what is now Chester County, South Carolina. He received a land grant in 1766 from Lord Charles Greville Montague. This same property was passed to his oldest son John Terry 1752-1834 who is buried on the property. His first wife was Sarah d 1765. Her maiden name is not known. She was the mother of all of his children. Stephen Terry's wife when he died was Susannah (Mitchell) Glover the widow of George Glover who owned the adjoining property to Stephen's land grant. She was appointed administrator of his estate.

This transcription is found in THE MISSISSIPPI GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY Vol. II, 1955, pg. 86-88. The bible lists all of the children of Stephen and wife Sarah. They did not have a son named James, Jeremiah, Rowland or William.
