Biography

Matheus Terwilliger died young.

Matheus is presumed to have been born in Shawangunk, Ulster County, New York, where his family lived around the time of his birth. He was baptized April 18, 1697, by a domine of the Reformed Dutch Church in Kingston, New York, where he was recorded as the child of Jan Evertse and Sytje Jacobsen.^[1] He died in infancy sometime before 30 October 1698, when a brother was baptized with the name Matheus. ^[2]
