Sarah Thake was born 29th April 1838 ^[1][2] at Widford, Hertfordshire, England & baptised there 27th May 1838,^[3][4] the daughter of John Thake & Elizabeth Jennings.

Sarah Thake, age 22, Spinster, of Bishops Stortford, (daughter of John Thake, Labourer) & Henry Shepherd, age 25, Widower, Smith, of Bishops Stortford, (son of John Shepherd, Smith) were married 6th May 1860 in the Parish Church of Bishops Stortford St. Michael, Hertfordshire, England according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church of England by D. Macaulay. Henry made his mark; Sarah signed her name. Witnesses were George Handscomb & Betsy Lincoln.^[5][6][7]

Sarah Shepherd died aged 46, on 10th July 1884 ^[8][9] at Widford, Hertfordshire, England & was laid to rest there 14th July 1884.^[10]
