Mary Thatcher was born in 1712 in Birmingham, Chester, Pennsylvania Colony. She was the daughter of Jonathan Thatcher and Hannah Dicks.[1]
Mary married George Hodgson on 21 February 1729 in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware[2][3] without Chester Meeting approval. Although both were disowned, their certificates were later sent from Chester Meeting to New Garden Meeting in North Carolina.
She died in 1764 in Guilford County, North Carolina. Buried in Centre Friends Meeting Cemetery, Greensboro, Guilford Co. NC.[1]

John Hodgson (Hodson), born 4 Aug 1731 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary Mills (daughter of Thomas Mills & Elizabeth Harrold) on 7 May 1754 at New Garden Monthly Meeting, Guilford County, North Carolina. He died 8 Nov 1804 in Greensborough, Guilford County, North Carolina.
Sarah Hodgson (Hodson) born 1733 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She married John Hiatt (Hiett) (son of George Hiatt & Martha Wakefield) on 22 Apr 1752. She died in 1817.
Susannah Hodgson (Hodson), born 1735 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She married William Hiatt (son of John Hiatt & Rachel Wilson) on 20 Feb 1754 at New Garden Monthly Meeting, Guilford County, North Carolina. She died 8 Sep 1782 in Guilford County, North Carolina.
Robert Hodgson (Hodson) was born on 11 Mar 1738/39 in Chester or Adams County, Pennsylvania. He married Rachel Mills (daughter of Thomas Mills & Elizabeth Harrold) on 30 Sep 1758 (prob) Rowan County, North Carolina. He married Rachel Mills (daughter of Hur Mills & Rachel Harrold) on 6 Feb 1794 Guilford County, North Carolina. He married Sarah Piersen on 3 Oct 1812. He died on 12 Apr 1813.
Joseph Hodgson (Hodson) was born in 1740 in Chester or Adams County, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Williams on 31 May 1766 (prob) Rowan County, North Carolina. He married Hannah Johnson (daughter of Tarlton Johnson and Sarah Mills) on 6 Jan 1802. He died in 1829.
Research Notes
No sources from Mary's life time have been located that indicate that she had a middle name "Dix" or "Dicks". It may have been an assumption made by later researchers.
