I'm not familiar with the Memorial of the Thayer Name. I was looking into the Lyon family for a friend to mine who thought she had a connection to Lucius Lyon. Nathanial Thayer was kind of incidental to my purpose.  :) But it's nice to know.
I think this is his father:

Jillaine,

I'm so hesitant to guess dates when I have no source. Although if I had to, I would guess a couple years older than Pamelia - so maybe 1799?

In your search for Nathan's family, here are a couple of items that might be clues.

Son George Washington Thayer was mayor of Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. So the Grand Rapids library system may have some detail on George's ancestry. I've found a few great things in their archives and they are very nice.

Second, in the 1870 census, George has a 27 year old Jennie Brisbon born in Vermont with a 2 year old son Nathan born in Minnesota in the household. I haven't figured out who they are. Maybe this is a widowed stepsister with a son named after the father?

Cathryn, can you please add an estimated birth for him? I'd like to try to attach him to the Thayer line which goes back to colonial New England. Thanks.
