Marie Adeline Therrien was born in Yamaska, Quebec, Canada.[1] She was the daughter of Damase Thomas Therrien and Marie Lavasseur.
She married Joseph James Schmid on 15 Jan 1849 in Yamaska, Québec.[2] They moved to the United States, living first near Kankakee, Illinois and then in Ishpeming, Marquette, Michigan.[3] By 1880, they were living in Houghton County, Michigan.[4] Mary and Joseph divorced and Mary married Joseph Guillaume Des Cormier in 1883[5] and she had 2 sons with him, Frank Des Cormier and John Joseph Des Cormier. The 1900 census stated that she ghad 17 children with 8 living.[6] Mary died in 1908.[7][8]
