Biography

Jean François Thibault was born on 16 Oct 1737 and was baptized 12 days later on 28 Oct 1737 in Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours parish in L'Islet, Canada, Nouvelle-France. He was the son of Jean François Thibault and Geneviève Cloutier. [1] Godparents at Jean François' baptism were his maternal grandfather Jean Baptiste Cloutier and his paternal grandmother Marie Angelique Proulx.

At age 19 Jean François married Geneviève Bossé on 18 Jan 1757 in Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours parish in L'Islet. [1] There were five known children born into this marriage.

At age 29 Jean François married Marguerite Roy on 1 Jun 1767 in L'Islet. [1] There were 10 known children born into this marriage.

Jean François died at age 72 on 15 Feb 1810 in Saint-Ours, Richelieu, Bas-Canada. [1]
