Charles Thibodeau was born 13 Feb 1740 in Acadia and was christened 25 Feb 1740 at Beaubassin. [2][3]He died Sep 1820 in St. James, LA and was buried 26 Sep 1820 at Convent, St. James, LA. [4] No marriage document has been found, but records show that Charles married Marie Landry about 1768 in Louisiana. They had 11 children the first born about 1769 and the last in 1796.
Residence
Charles was identified in the April 25, 1766, census of the Attakapas District as a resident of the pioneer community at La Pointe (the area around present-day Breaux Bridge, La.). He appears to be the Charles Thibodeau listed as a fusilier in the June 20, 1774, muster roll of the Attakapas District. [5]
