I decided to use Thibodeau as last name spelling based on the above-linked article on when the "X" was added to the last name.

Thibodeau-787 and Thibodeaux-269 appear to represent the same person because: The big question is last name spelling. Once the Acadians got to Louisiana and "X" begins to appear in church records. Thus we have Cyrille's birth record as transcribed by Donald J. Hebert: Text: THIBODEAUX, Cirille (Olivier THIBAUDAU & Agnes BRAN) b. 8 Oct. 1773, bt. Nov. 1774 Spons: Theodore THIBAUDAU & Marie THIBAUDAU. Fr. IRENEE (SM Ch.: v.1, p.40).

Text: Cirille, son of Olivier THIBAUDAU & Agnes BRAN [sic], born 8 Oct 1773, baptized Nov 1774. Sponsors: Theodore THIBAUDAU [older half-brother?] & Marie THIBAUDAU. Recorded by Fr. IRENEE at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, St. Martinville, LA (SM Ch.: v.1, p. 40).

THIBODEAUX, Cecile [sic] (Olivier & Agnes PELLERIN [sic]) b. 1774 Spons: Theodore TIBAUDAU & --- TIBAUDAU. (SM Ch.: Folio B-1)

Thanks for reading thus far. You rock!
