Biography

Rachel Thompson was born September 2, 1854 in Pennsylvania. She was a daughter of Andrew Thompson and Mary Brown.

Rachel Thompson married Abednego White on June 22, 1871 in Tyler County, West Virginia.[1] Together, they had 10 children including:

  • Sarah Emma White (1872-1936) m. Simon Lyons, Foster F Noland
  • Mary J White (1874- ?)
  • Sevilla Victoria White (1876-1939) m. Francis Asbury Baker
  • Amanda Wynona White (1879-1939) m. Melvin Othello Whiteman
  • Albert Oran White (1881-1957) m. Iley McCormick
  • Marvin O White (1886-1913)
  • Floyd Cleveland White (1889-1946) m. Retha Mary Mayfield, Julia E Davis
  • William White (1892- ?)
  • Lester Kenneth White (1893-1963) m. Orpha Blanche Eddy
  • Jessie D D White (1897-1972) m. George Austin Noland

She passed away in 1923 in Dale, West Virginia.[2] She is buried in White Cemetery in Middlebourne, Tyler, West Virginia.[3]
