Mary Thomson was born in Scotland.

Mary Thomson was born on 24 October 1772 and baptized on 1 November 1772 in Scoonie, Fife, Scotland.^[1] She married George Baxter on 9 May 1795 in Markinch, Fife, Scotland.^[2]

• In 1841, Mary was 70 years old and she was head of a family that included children Christina 25, Bell 30, Ann 23, George Barcklay 7, Alexander Barchlay 5 and Mary Barchlay 3.^[3]

She died on 10 December 1846 aged 80 years in Markinch, Fife.^[4]
