DEATH NOTICE. THOMSON.—On the 20th April, Alexander Thomson, Charles-street, Lauuceston, in the 59th year of his age.
OBITUARY. DEATH OF MR. ALEXANDER THOMSON.—Our obituary notices of to-day record the death of Mr Alexander Thomson, of Charles-street. Mr Thomson was a very old and well-known resident of Launceston. He arrived here from Edinburgh about the year 1854, and soon after commenced business as bookbinder, book seller, and fancy goods salesman, in premises adjoining the Coach and Horses, Charles-street. He was an excellent workman at his trade of bookbinding, and was well patronised. He removed more than a quarter of a century ago to wooden premises in Charles-street, on or near the site of the brick building his family still occupy in Charles-street near its junction with Elizabeth-street. He was a candid, outspoken man, of a cheerful disposition, and very much liked by a large number of intimate acquaintances. He has been in failing health for nearly two years, and he died yesterday in the 59th year of his age.
Death of Spouse: 26 Feb 1911, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia
