Biography

When Isabella was about 24 she married John Adam on 14 June 1856 in Aboyne, County of Aberdeen.^[1]

The couple had 6 children:

1. Jane Adam,
2. Margaret Adam,
3. Isabella Adam,
4. John Adam,
5. Mary Ann Adam and
6. Alexander Thomas Adam.

In the 1871 census Isabella (age 39) was the wife of John Adam in Schoolhill Cottage, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire.^[2]

John died in 1877.

In the 1881 census Isabella (age 50), Charwoman Agents (Widow), was the head of household in New Cottages, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire.^[3]

In the 1891 census Isabella (age 59) was the head of household in New Cottages, Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. Also there her children John and Jane. ^[4]

In the 1901 census Isabella (age 71) was the m in law (mother-in-law) of Peter Thomson at 17 Dean Park St, Edinburgh St Bernard, Midlothian.^[5]

Isabella's death (age 69) was registered in 1902 in the St Nicholas district.^[6]
