Biography
James was born in 1826 to Jehiel Thorne Sarah Sally Hoghteling.
In 1860, James married Maria Douglas in Wisconsin. They had four children.
In about 1864, they moved to Nebraska where Maria died in 1866.
In 1868, James married Mary Wallace Laing in Nebraska City. They had three children and then moved to Oregon.
- Children: Frank Seymour Thorne (1864 - 1932), Georgia Thorne Graham (1864 - 1955), Herbert James Thorne (1869 - 1943)
He passed away in 1904 and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Oregon City.
