Research Note:

John A.Threatt, age 30, was killed in action at Fredericksburg, Va. 13 Dec. 1862, while serving in the 8th S.C. Infantry, Company D. His date of enlistment was 28 April 1861, Chesterfield Dist., S.C. This information is from his service record from the SC Archives. My husband's great-grandfather, John A. Threatt, was shown on the 1860 census with his wife, Harriett Knight Threatt and their children, but has not been found on any later census. "My" John A. is listed as deceased in some documents I found while researching this month in Chesterfield, S.C. and Harriett Knight Threatt is shown as his widow. The age given at the SC Archives for the John A. Threatt of the service record was age 30 in 1862 which is the age "my" John A. Threatt would have been at that time. I am now trying to find if there is also pension information for this man. Please contact me if you have any questions or information pertaining to this finding. -- Carolyn Threatt, wife of De Fonce Threatt, Jr., grandson of Julius A. Threatt, son of John A. Threatt and his wife, Harriett Knight Threatt.

Threatt-1249 and Threatt-392 appear to represent the same person because: Found an orphan without dates. Dated and sourced him up, and found the other profile. Will also submit a merge for his wife.
