Dan Throop, the son of William Throope and Mary Chapman, was probably born in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Some accounts give his birth as 1667, some as 1670. The family moved to Bristol, Rhode Island, in 1680. He moved to Lebanon, Connecticut in 1712. He died there in 1737.
He married Dorcas Barney in 1689[1] and they had Mary, Dorcas and William. He married Deborah Macey in 1698[2] and they had Alery, Mercy, Samuel, Deborah, Dan and Submit. In 1713[3] he married Deborah Church, the widow of Samuel Gray. They had Dan and Joseph.
