Frances Wass was born in Columbia Falls, Maine, on June 6, 1823, the daughter of Moses Tabbut and Mary Crowley.
She married in 1847 to Ambrose Howard Sturgis. They settled in Cherryfield, Maine, where Ambrose worked at the livery stable.
Ambrose died in 1879, and Fanny moved in with her son Charles and his family.
She died on July 8, 1904 in Cherryfield, Maine and is buried at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cherryfield, Maine.[1]
