Biography

Mary (Tidwell) Whitehead was born in Appalachia, in Alabama.

Mary Jane Tidwell was born February 20, 1846 to Andrew Tidwell and Margaret Tucker in Dublin, Alabama.

She married George W. Whitehead on February 7, 1868 in Fayette County, Alabama.[1] Their children were:

  1. Martha Alice Whitehead
  2. Margaret E. Whitehead[2]
  3. William Andrew "Bud" Whitehead
  4. Icie Dora Whitehead
  5. Andrew J Whitehead
  6. James Whitehead
  7. Mary O Whitehead

She died, at the age of 32, on August 20, 1878 in Fayette County, Alabama. She is buried at the Peter Tidwell Cemetery, Fayette County, Alabama.[3]
