Biography
Birth
According to the England Birth Index, William was born in the second quarter of 1839 in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire . [1] He was the son of William Tilford (abt.1810-1872) and Mary Newton (1814-abt.1887)
Marriage
William Tilford married Elizabeth (Cooper) Tilford (abt.1841-) on the 6th of June 1858 in Shardlow, Derbyshire [2]
Census
In 1861 William was an agricultural labourer living with wife Elizabeth and two children in Alfreton, Derbyshire [3]
In 1871 he was a labourer in the Iron works at Stapleford in Nottinghamshire. He and Elizabeth then had five children in their household [4]
In 1881 he lived in Stapleford, with his wife and five children[5]
Death
He passed away on the 8th of August 1914.[6]
