William C Davis married to Brooksie S. Timberlake on 15 Oct 1889 in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama.[1][2][3] Their son George Clark Davis was born on 3 September 1890, and William Alexander Davis on 18 September 1895. When Robert Easley Davis was born 12 years later on 27 January 1908, the Huntsville Weekly Democrat saluted them with a limerick:
As a young mother Brooksie traveled with son George and her sister-in-law Mattie Davis to visit friends on Monte Sano in July 1891. Huntsville Weekly Democrat (Huntsville, Alabama), Wednesday, 22 Jul 1891, page 3 Newspapers.com.[5] Brooksie sold a lot on Monte Sano to J. L. Baker in the first week of August 1908.[6]
On 23 December 1926 her son Robert Earl [sic] Davis arrived from Salisbury, North Carolina, to spend the holidays.[7] In 1928 she lived on West Holmes Street. A houseguest Mrs. Rice of Danville, Kentucky, visited and Mrs. Laura Hewlett hosted a dinner party.[8] On Tuesday 24 May 1927 she had a tonsil operation, and returned home to Holmes Street the following day.[9] In July 1927 she visited her sons William and Robert in North Carolina.[10] Brooksie was active with the Episcopal Church until shortly before her death.
Brooksie died at 4:30 a.m. on 17 July 1928 at her home at 508 East Holmes Street in Huntsville's Meridian neighborhood.[11][12] She was buried at Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama.[13]
