Hi Ann,

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lister-913

The sources I have found for this profile show that two different men have become conflated. Can you please create a new profile for one of them with either the parents OR the wife and children attached.

I have really one large brick wall to get over! My ancestor John Tippett born in Cornwall around 1833 married a Mary Ann Francis and had a large family. He died in 1871, but l can find no evidence of an actual marriage but on census returns after his death she says she is a widow. They were Baptists too so can't imagine then living "in sin"!!!? Any more ideas please. She is on the 1851 census living with an uncle but she always states she was born in Plymouth, Devon. In later census returns she was living in Burnley , Lancs after John's death.

Hi Ann,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Ann,

Thanks for adding sources!

There can be a bit of a learning curve to WikiTree, but once you figure it out, it is a great place to interact with other family historians.

By the way - I notice that you are using "church records" as your source on some of your profiles. As we are a collaborative tree, it would be a great help if you could be a bit more explicit about your sources. For instance - which church records you are using - baptism, marriage, burial. And also which church and when? Giving specifics will help others know where the information comes from. Anything would be helpful.

Here is what our Help Index says. It has lots of ideas: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

Thanks for joining WikiTree. Looking forward to your contributions!

Hi Ann,

I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

I see from your tags that you are interested in several UK locations related to your ancestors. Why don't you stop by the United Kingdom project, (currently led/coordinated by Maria Maxwell and Doug Straiton to see how you can participate? There are several sub-projects under the United-Kingdom project. Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!
