There may have not been a Elizabeth jane tipton, John Tipton Hunt may have been named tipton not because of a marriage with the Tipton's but because of their friendship with them.
Trying to sort out if this Elizabeth Tipton was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Trying to figure out how she met and married this John Hunt. Found a Sergeant John Hunt that enlisted in the Maryland for Revolution War 15 May 1777 under discharge it lists date 15 Dec 1777 and died. [1] Wondering if he is a relative or son.
"Hunts of Virginia, 1635. Ship passenger lists show four early Hunts coming to Virginia in 1635. Some genealogies claim that they (or some of them) were brothers, but they came on different ships at different times, it is not known where they came from, or if there was any relationship. Several other Hunts came to Virginia and Maryland after 1635. Some of these Hunt descendants migrated to the Shenandoah Valley of VA, NC, KY, TN, and into the mid-Western and Western States. There is no evidence of any of these early Southern Hunts or their descendants (at least through the 18th century) settling in New England." [2]
