Biography
Alice Clara Tipton was born in 1851 at Oxford in Oxfordshire. She was the daughter of William Tipton and his wife Sarah, born Sarah Bartlett. [1]
1861 a student at Bouverie Pusey School, Pusey, Berkshire, England. 1871 32 Observatory Street, St Giles, Oxfordshire, England, shop assistant in her fathers boot and shoe warehouse. 1891 45 and 46 Corn Market Street, St Michael, Oxfordshire. Japanese Art Dealer. 1901 89 Kingston Road, St Giles, Oxfordshire, England, living on own means. Death 4th January 1929 36 Wellington- Square Oxford. Her Will Tipton Alice Clara of 36 Wellington- Square Oxford, spinster died 4 January 1929 Administration (with Will) (limited) Oxford 28 March to Edward Fortescue solicitor attorney of Elizabeth Morley. Effects £3911 8s 5d (Elizabeth Morley is her sister)[2]
