He was one of the original six purchasers of Assonet Neck in 1680, when the land was seized from the natives as payment of debt for the Indian Wars.[4]
James Tisdale died January 15, 1715, probably in Assonet Neck, then in Dighton.[1] He is buried in Fox Cemetery, Berkley, Bristol, Massachusetts.[5]
