Biography
William was probably born in New York where his parents Ephraim and Ruth Strange Tisdale fled as British loyalists. They went to New Brunswick in 1783. William and some of his siblings went to Upper Canada where he married Sarah Lawrence. They had four sons and five daughters while he earned a living farming. William died at Trafalgar in October of 1846.[1]
