David Tobias married Rebecca Kolb in 1828.
David and Rebecca moved from Pennsylvania to Pickaway Co., Ohio in 1832. David and his family went west in 1847, entering Illinois through Clark County where they stayed for a while. They were living in Marshall, Clark Co., Illinois when the 1850 Federal Census was taken. Their land was at the SE 1/4 of Sec. 25 and NE 1/4 of Sec. 35 Twp. 11 N of Range 12 - 160 acres. The family later moved to Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois where they were living in 1860 until the death of David in 1885. David was ordained as a preacher in 1865.
