Biography

Ruth Todd (or Tod) was born in Rowley, Massachusetts, on April, 11, 1657 ("11 : 2m : 1657" in the town record), the daughter of John and Susannah Todd.[1][2][3][4]

She married first, on May 1, 1678, in Ipswitch, Massachusetts, Samuel Hunt of Ipswitch.[5] The Hunts had many children. However, the marriage ended and Mary ended up marrying two more times to John Center and Josiah (Joseph) Wright.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12]

Mrs. Ruth (Todd) Wright died in Woburn, Massachusetts, on February 18, 1716-17. She was buried at First Burial Ground in Woburn, where her gravestone reads:[4][10][11][13][14]

Research Notes

  • Marriages Problems: Attached sources do seem to provide evidence for 3 marriages, but the cited birth dates for the children of Samuel Hunt, 1678 to 1699, and John Center, 1687 to 1697, overlap. In addition, "Hazen" cites that Ruth was the first wife of Samuel Hunt, that she died and he married Mary before 1689. Missing links: marriage sources for Samuel Hunt's alleged other wife, Mary, and for Ruth's marriage to John Center.

Dodd-95 and Todd-171 do not represent the same person because: different people
posted by Al Adams
Unknown-322093 and Todd-171 do not represent the same person because: Dates of marriage, when compared to the death date of Unknown-322093, suggest that these women are the first and second wives of John Senter, not one and the same woman.

Unknown-322093 and Todd-171 appear to represent the same person because: Please check to see if these two profiles represent the same person and merge them if they do. All children need to be checked and disconnected if they are not of appropriate parentage. ( Please don't reject merge because children are not represented in both profiles unless the two profiles are proven as reprinting two people.) Thanks!
Todd-171 and Todd-1140 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to match, with mine showing children by first marriage. The DPOB and marriage dates on Todd-1140 are likely to be closer to correct.
