Benjamin, son of Benjamin Todd was born 10 April 1728[1]
"Benjamin Todd Jur: and Lois Tuttle of New Haven were Joyned in marriage unto each other Sepbr 3rd : 1755 by Isaiah Tuttle Juftice of Peace."[1]
One source says he was unmarried at the time of his enlistment. 7th Co. 2nd Regiment, Campaigen of 1755. Reduction of Crown Point - Term about 6 months from April through October.[2]
Or Benjamin Todd enlisted Sept 9, 1755, (which is 6 days after his marriage) in Captain James Peck's 7th Company of Col. Elizur Goodrich's Regiment. and died the 6 of Nov.[3] The Battle of Lake George took place 8 Sept 1755, the day before he enlisted. So his mortal wound would have occured after this victory for the British. He was "in service" at the time of his death 6 Nov 1755.[4]
"Benjamin Todd Junr: Decd. Novbr: Anno Dom 1755"[1]during the expedition to Crown Point.[5]
Jacobus says he died without issue,[6] and there were no children registered in New Haven. His wife remarried to James Atwater in November 1756. A child Benjamin Atwater b. 1756 in Nine Partners, New York, is often believed to be his child born postumously.
