Biography

Carrie was born in 1810. She is the daughter of Junior Tollet and Nancy Wilson. [1]

Carry (spelled Cary, Cara or Carrie) was the oldest child of John Tollett Jr and Nancy Wilson.

When Carry TOLLETT was born on October 24, 1810, in Bledsoe County, Tennessee, her father, JOHN, was 20, and her mother, NANCY, was 24. She married Robert John Frazier in 1830 in her hometown. They had ten children in 34 years. She died on November 29, 1885, in Bowen, Arkansas, having lived a long life of 75 years.

Carry’s mother Nancy died on October 23, 1842 at the age of 56. She was the first to be buried in the Tollett cemetery. Carry was 32 years old when her mother died and was living in Alabama at the time.

Carry and Robert left Tennessee sometime after1833 and were living in Jackson County, Alabama in 1850. According to the 1850 census Robert was a farmer and they had 6 children: Nancy age 17 born in TN, Elizabeth 14, John 12, George 10, Robert 7, William 5, and Margaret 1 which were all born in Alabama.

The Frazier family moved back to Bledsoe County prior to 1854. The 1860 census shows them living in Pikeville, Bledsoe County, TN with 5 children: Robert 17, William 14, Margaret 11, James 8, and Martha 6. I have found no records of the older children Nancy, Elizabeth and George after the 1850 census. They may have died between 1850 and 1860. Their youngest daughter at the time was 6 years old and born in TN. James who was 8 was born in Alabama. It is possible Carry was living in Pikeville when her father, John, was murdered on May 1, 1963.

Carry’s family left TN prior to 1867. The 1870 census shows them living in Hardin, Conway County, Arkansas with their 3 youngest children: Martha 16, Nora 3, and Altona 1. Nora was born in 1867 in Texas and Altona was born in Arkansas. They must have traveled to Texas before settling in Arkansas. According to the 1880 census they were living with their son William, his wife Sarah and their 4 children in Madison, Bowen County, Arkansas. Carry’s and Robert’s ages are listed as 68 and 70.

When John C Frazier was born on July 14, 1837, in Jackson, Alabama, his father, Robert, was 30 and his mother, Carry, was 26. He married Sarah Jane Judge on September 20, 1866, in Jackson, Alabama. They had six children in 20 years. He died on June 8, 1921, in Witter, Arkansas, at the age of 83, and was buried there.

When William Arthur Frazier was born on July 14, 1846, in Alabama, his father, Robert, was 39 and his mother, Carry, was 35. He had nine sons and three daughters with Sarah between 1871 and 1894. He died on February 3, 1917, in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma, at the age of 70, and was buried there.

When James Alonzo Frazier was born in 1848 in Hamilton, Alabama, his father, Robert, was 41 and his mother, Carry, was 38. He married Sarah Jane "Sally" Hill in 1869 in Franklin, Alabama. They had three children during their marriage. He died in 1887 in Alabama at the age of 39.

Margaret Frazier born about 1849 and possibly married Alfred Shelton and died in 1928 in Jackson, Alabama.

The other children: Nancy was born about 1833 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee and lived at least 17 years. Elizabeth was born in Alabama and lived at last 14 years. George was born in 1840 in Jackson, Clarke County, Alabama and lived at least 10 years. Martha born about 1854 in Litton, Bledsoe County, Tennessee and lived at least 16 years. Nora was born about 1867 in Texas and lived at least 3 years. Altona was born about 1869 in Arkansas and lived past age one.
