Benjamin was born in 1723. His son Benjamin Tompkins was born in 1756 and he married Susanna Dean about 1759. According to Little Compton Families they were the parents of Gilbert Tompkins and Michael Tompkins, but an alternative, better attested genealogy exists for them. He passed away in 1774.
