Nathaniel Tompkins was born December 31, 1676 at Little Compton, Newport, Rhode Island.[1] He died in 1748.[2]
He died on 12 August 1748 in Tiverton according to the heading of his inventory which was taken on 19 August 1748.[3]

To kinsman Timothy Gifford, Jr., of Dartmouth, all my lands and buildings, but if he died, then to his two brothers Daniel and Robert Gifford. To sister Hannah Gifford, a brass kettle. To Mary King, a piece of gold and right in a black cow. To kinsman Robert Gifford, largest gun. To Timothy Gifford, Jr., all personal estate not disposed of, and if he die without issue, then to my kinswomen Constant and Hannah Gifford, daughters of my executor, L100, each.
Inventory, L751, 15s, 11d., Viz: waring apparel L242, 11s, 8d, bed L59, 6s, 2 guns, pair of stillyards, half of 2 mares, half of 2 cows, 3 barrows, a shoat, 9 pigs, neat cattle L105, mill and press, &c.
