Biography

Mary Tompkins, daughter of immigrant Ralph Tompkins, was baptized in Wendover, England on 16 May 1616/7. It is believed she was the FIRST wife of John Foster of Salem, Massachusetts, married about 1647.[1]

After her death, her husband, John Foster, may have remarried "Martha" who some people believe to be her half sister.

See the discussion of wives of John Foster, Sr. under his profile on wikitree.

Tompkins-2529 and Tompkins-375 do not represent the same person because: They appear to be sisters who married the same man after one of them died. Do not merge.

Tompkins-2529 and Tompkins-375 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be duplicates. The dates need to be verified.

Tompkins-748 and Tompkins-375 appear to represent the same person because: Tompkins-748 is an orphaned profile with no useful info. She has Katherine (wife of Ralph Tompkins) as mother, but places of birth and death can not match this family. Suggest merging the profile away, keeping the info in Tompkins-375 as it is.
Tompkins-399 and Tompkins-375 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same parents, birth is approximate, same husband. Sources only mention one daughter Mary born of Ralph Tompkins and his wife.
Tompkins-375 and Tompkins-632 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, year of birth and name. Duplicate children of Ralph Tompkins following merge of duplicate "Ralph" profiles.
There is no proof that Ralph Tompkins had a daughter Margaret. It was his daughter MARY who was supposedly married to John Foster. This profile should be merged into Mary's.

Thompkins-33 and Tompkins-375 do not represent the same person because: Too many differences in birth place, dates, first name, etc. to merge these.

Tompkins-402 and Tompkins-375 appear to represent the same person because: Same spouse; birth year is about 1620; father is Ralph. See Anderson, Great Migration Vol VII, p. 72. Thank you.
