Biography

Edna Josephine Toney was born on August 27, 1913, in Deer, Arkansas, her father, Poindexter, was 43, and her mother, Della, was 19. She married Dennis Leon Haskins on April 10, 1931, in Sebastian, Arkansas. They had six children in 17 years. She died on July 23, 2003, in Shady Point, Oklahoma, at the age of 89, and was buried there.^[1]

Josephine Haskins, 89, of Shady Point, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2003. She was born Aug. 27, 1913 at Deer, Ark. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Point. She lived in this area since 1945 and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband Dennis Leon Haskins of the home; two daughters, Virginia Lyssy of San Antonio, Texas and Ruth Ragan of Shady Point; four sons, Robert Haskins of Edmond, Ron Haskins of Alamo, Calif., Garry Haskins and Dexter Haskins, both of Poteau; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.^[2]
