Adam F Toney was born about 1820 in Boone, Virginia to parents John F Toney and Mary Ferguson. He married Mary Ann Cooper on 11 May 1854 in Boone, Virginia. Children: Nancy Jane, Minerva Susan, Hadassah, Mahala, Adam F, John Hamilton, Florence, William C. He died about 1880 in Kanawha, West Virginia. Teacher/Farm Hand.
Adam served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War as a sergeant in Company I, 22nd Regiment, Virginia Infantry, 1st Kanawha Regiment.
