Ellie was born in 1907 in Caldwell County, North Carolina, United States. She was the daughter of Andrew Frie Torrence, Sr. and Mittie Alberta McGalliard. Ellie was married to Stanley Eugene Crisp. She passed away in 1971 in Watauga County, North Carolina, United States. Ellie was buried at the Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, Caldwell County, North Carolina, United States.

Rites To Be Thursday For Mrs. Crisp
Mrs. Stanley E. Crisp, 63, of 486 West Harper Ave., Wife of a former Lenoir chief of police, died at 9:15 o'clock Tuesday night at a Blowing Rock Hospital after an extended illness.
Prior to her husband's retirement, Mrs. Crisp had served for a number of years as a private duty nurse here. For a number of years the family had lived during the summers at their Blowing Rock home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Crisp was the former Ellie Torrence, daughter of the late A.F. Torrence and Mittie McGalliard Torrence. She was born in Caldwell County, Nov 16, 1907.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Jo Ann Steward of Lenoir, and Mrs. Kendrick (Nancy) deBooy of Seattle, Wash.; one son, Dale Franklin Crisp of Lenoir; a brother, Frie A. Torrence Jr. of Lenoir; a sister, Mrs. Mary Palmer of Atlanta, Ga., four half-sisters, Mrs. Nell Quen of Charlotte, Mrs. Helen Eller of Gastonia, and Mrs. Ruth Craig and Mrs. Jessie Faye Jaynes, both of Lenoir; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the first Presbyterian Church in Lenoir by Rev. Richard Holshouser of Blowing Rock and Rev. Marshall Tidwell, pastor of Central Advent Christian Church. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The body will remain at Lenoir Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at the funeral hour. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening.
