DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:

I do not believe that Hannah (Seaman) Totten (Seaman-885) was the wife of Samuel Totten (Totten-480) nor the mother of Samuel Totten (Totten-263). Based on the will a Sarah Totten was the wife of Totten-480 at the time the will was written. The excerpt of Deed shows the linage of Peter Totten (Totten-116), Grandfather, Samuel Totten (Totten-480), Father, and Samuel Totten (Totten-263), Son. The mother of Totten-263 is identified as a "Sarah Totten". The will was written 15 January 1755 and the excerpt to deed was written 24 April 1755.

Totten-1582 and Totten-480 appear to represent the same person because: Both marry Hannah Seaman on the same day.

The orginal excerpt was edited to insert the Wikitree ID for Totten-263, Totten-480 and Totten-116 to show the linage of Totten-116 (Grandfather), Totten-480 (Father) and Totten-263 (Son). The mother Sara Totten is currently not entered into Wikitree.

Can you find a marriage records for this Sarah? Record of Marriage of Hannah Seaman and Samuel exists from St. George’s. Birth of children occur as expected after marriage. Just because Totten-263 calls Sarah his mother, does not mean she was his natural mother. She may have been a step- mother.

Your addition of Samuel Totten (Totten-1794) has the appearance affirming that "Sarah" is the wife of Totten-480 and the mother of Totten-263.
