In reading the biographies of his son, the great painter Henri do Toulouse-Lautrec, you cant help but smile at the antics of this father, who must have been a constant source of amusement.
Coming from an aristocratic family (descendants of the Counts of Toulouse) did not stop the count from his eccentric ways. He was known for dressing up in elaborate costumes, taking off for days, even weeks at a time on hunting adventures, or to unknown encounters.
(I'm sure his family might sneer at us for delighting in these stories, but I suggest you look into them never the less. He is a truly colorful character. I was not able to confirm his DOB or DOD.
