Elizabeth was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1781, the daughter of Abram Tout and Margaret Louderback. Her parents and family migrated southwest to cross into Kentucky at Maysville, likely moving with the McKee's from the same area. She married Robert R. McKee in Fleming County where they both raised six children - four sons and two daughters. Their seventh child, Abraham T., was born after Robert died from injuries sustained during the War of 1812. Elizabeth married John Stuart in 1817 in Adams County, Ohio, across from Maysville. They did return to Fleming County where she passed away after the 1860 Census.
