After George was discharged from the U.S. Army, and the end of the Civil War, George and Columbia were married in Wirt County, WV on February 26, 1868[6] by the Rev. M.B.Edmondson. At the time of their marriage, it indicated that George was a farmer. George was twenty-four years old.[7]
In 1900, George and his son Freddie, were living in Elizabeth, Wirt County, West Virginia.
When interviewing my Great Aunt Maggie Walcutt, she stated that she did not know when or where George died. Aunt Maggie said that George "went away after Columbia died."[8] At this point and time I still do not have a date or place of George's death.
There is a George Washington Dent Died June 13 1912, died in Mono, Monongalia, WV, married, age 72, occupation was physician. Age is about right.???? There are references to the Dent's knowing the George Washington, and children were named after him but???[9]
