Elizabeth Chastain was enumerated as wife of the head of household in Civil District 15, Monroe County, Tennessee for the June 22, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born January 1865 in Tennessee and had been married six years. She was the mother of six children of which five were still living as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Ab Chastain, son Thomas Chastain, stepdaughter Mary E Swaney, daughter Dora Chastain, son Caleb Chastain, daughter Minnie Chastain and son Guss Chastain.[1]

Elizabeth Townson Chastain is buried at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Fort Loudon, Monroe County, Tennessee.[2]
