The railroad was constructing a bed and laying track to harvest the Virgin timber in Southern Wayne County, West Virginia. There were no bridges across the Ohio at this time so they would have taken a ferry (Steamboat) Calvin died from an explosion at A Steam Mill in Southern Wayne County, West Virginia. Winn Martin was the registrare on death record in Wayne County West Virginia.
