General Notes

The online family tree noted below is a sample of those which list her father as LEVI TOWNSEND. I have not fully researched this lineage; however, I found that there is indeed a Levi Townsend listed in the 1800 Exeter, Luzerne, PA Census. See photo of page 371. Also on this page are CHARLES TOWNSEND and DAVID DAILEY. A GILBERT TOWNSEND is on page 372 (No print taken). Also according to the online trees, Minerva’s husband, Luther’s father is JOSEPH DAILEY. He shows up on this same census on page 374. (See photo with Luther’s profile)

That these names occur in fact and in proximity lends some credence to the unreferenced online trees BUT does not make for a complete proof. I will not be adding Minerva’s parents to wikitree but hope that someone with verifiable references/sources will someday extend this family line further into the past.

Possible 1810 Census

See attached photo. See also Possible 1810 Census photo attached to Luther. Levi Townsend with 2 male 16-15 and 2 female 10-15 children listed. (Minerva about 13) Possible sibling of Levi also listed.

1840 Census

See photo. Minerva is in Ogle County with all of her children except Myrtle who passed away at about the same time as Minerva's husband did and Emeline who moved to Illinois with her husband William Sickler-listed on same page. Her eldest son Wilson is listed as Head of Household

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Minerva by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Minerva:
