William was the child of Thomas Townsend and Eliza Gain. William passed away in 1853.[1]

Searched VIctoria BDM (Births and Deaths) - no registered birth or death.
One convict, William Townsend was transported on ship 'Maitland' which arrived at Port Phillip in Nov 1846. He was then aged 18 years. Convicted of Housebreaking at Liecester sentenced to 10 years and jailed prior in ?Millbank? Prison. His trade was a Blacksmith. Could both read & write.[2]. (est. DOB 1828)
