Biography
Mary Townsend was born on 14 Apr 1762 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts to parents Joshua Townsend and Mary Keyes. [1]
She married John Weed about 1782 in Fredericksburgh, Dutchess, New York. Children: Ira S, William, Lydia, James, Joann, Elizabeth (Betsy), Rebecca, Susan B, Amanda, Mary (Polly), John, Townsend, Hoyt. All the children were born in Bennington, Vermont. She died on 3 Apr 1827 in Rupert, Bennington, Vermont, and was buried in Pulaski Village Cemetery Pulaski, Oswego, New York.
Marriage
Unsourced marriage dates given as either 1793 in Albany, New York or 1782 in Fredericksburgh, Dutchess, New York. Some report parents as Gerardus Townsend and Elizabeth Bennett with no documentation. Burial in Oswego may have been done because her husband was still alive there.
