Biography
Dorothy's maiden name is found on the death certificate for her son Daniel. As far as is known, she was Abraham Danner's only wife. Together, they were the parents of 12 children. Their son Adam was a Union soldier who died in the Battle of Cold Harbor, in or near Mechanicsville, Hanover County, Virginia on 1 June 1864. Abraham died in 1875, and in 1887 Dorothy filed for a Civil War pension owing to Adam's death in service. In 1880, Dorothy was living with her son and daughter-in-law, William and Harriet Danner, in Germany Township of Adams County, Pennsylvania. She died in 1899 and was buried with Abraham in Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Cemetery, Woodsboro, Maryland.
