Perry was born on 1 September 1882. ^[1]

He was the son of John W Trethewey (born c. 1858) and Margaret his wife (born c. 1860). The 1910 US Census records five other siblings: Catherine (26), William (21), Rose (18), Orrin (?) (14, Stanley A (7). There was also a temporary lodger, Ethel Rice, aged 22, who is probably Perry's wife-to-be. John W Trethewey's parents were recorded as being born in England but in the column for John himself the birthplace is recorded as Eng/Canada. ^[2][3]

He died in Miami, Gila, Arizona in March 1975. ^[1] He is buried in Pinal Cemetery, Globe, Gila. ^[4]
