YOUNG MOTHER DIES SUDDENLY

Mrs. James E. Smith Leaves Seven Children From 3 Weeks to 14 Years Old

Mrs. James E. Smith died at Mercy Hospital, Bay City, Saturday, May 17. She was taken very ill Thursday and removed to the hospital Thursday afternoon but she was thought too weak, by physicians to undergo an operation. Elizabeth Eleanor Tripp was born in North Bradley, January 20, 1887 and is the daughter of Mrs. Carrie Tripp. At the time of her death she was 37 years of age. Besides her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by five sons: Hubert, William, Tommy, Joe, Walter, ranging from four to fourteen years of age and tow daughters, Sarah, thirteen and Velma May, 3 weeks old. She is also survived by three brothers. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Nazarene church of this place, and has lived all her life in this vicinity. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon form the Nazarene church, Rev. Charles H. Hare officiating, with interment in Midland cemetery.
