Biography

Catherine Tripp was born February 20, 1762, in Dartmouth, Bristol, County, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Peleg Tripp.

Catherine married February 11, 1781, in Dartmouth, Bristol, County, Massachusetts to Jonathan Mosher, son of Wesson Mosher and Fear Potter.

Three known sons were born to Jonathan and Catherine, Nathaniel Tripp Mosher, Peleg Mosher, and Jonathan C. Mosher.

Jonathan Mosher was mentioned in will of Mary Tripp Gifford, wife of William Gifford. Nathaniel Tripp Mosher, son of Jonathan Mosher, was an heir. Mary’s will was probated May 4, 1824, in Bristol County, Massachusetts.

Jonathan and Catherine were lining in Westport in 1790. By 1820 they were in Galway. Johnathan was living with his son, Peleg, in Galway, Saratoga County, New York.

Catherine died December 1845 in New York, probably Saratoga County, New York. Jonathan and Catherine are buried in Foster Hill Cemetery in Galway, Saratoga County, New York. The Mosher/Tripp Bible was once owned by Jonathan. He signed and dated it.
