Marriage
Mathurin Gaultier of Bourgneuf, eveche de La Rochelle and Anne Giraut of St-Gilles, Surgere, eveche de La Rochelle were married on July 16, 1669. His parents were Jean Gaultier and Louise Barbotine. Her parents, Antoine Giraut and Jeanne Girodelle were both deceased.[4][5][6] On this record she is listed as Anne Giraut, her origin given as the parish of St-Gilles in Surgères, diocese of La Rochelle, with her parents (both deceased) being listed as Antoine Giraut and Jeanne Girodelle. Mathurin is cited as Mathurin Gaultier, son of Jean Gaultier and Louise Barbotine, of the parish of Bourgneuf, diocese of La Rochelle. Named witnesses at the wedding were Étienne Blanchon dit la Rose, bourgeois of Québec, and Pierre Loubiache, resident of Montréal.

No funeral record has been identified as hers, she is not listed as deceased on her children's marriages, the last being on 7 Feb 1707.

Notes

Peter Gagne has a biography for Anne Giraud or Troller in his book under the heading "Not Filles du Roi" since she came to New France in 1669 unmarried after the death of her parents. Apparently she was not qualified as a Fille du Roi because she had signed a marriage contract in France with Vivien Jean intending to marry him after they arrived in New France. Instead they separated in Quebec and Anne married Mathurin Gauthier who had sailed with them on the Pot de Buerre from La Rochelle.[7]

The marriage contract was already cancelled in France, but she came ahead in any case, probably having made arrangements to do so before the contract breach.

the father's name needs to be corrected, it was never Troller.

Troller-2 and Giraut-5 appear to represent the same person because: Same names (see sources), same spouse, same approx birth date and same place, matching death date and place.
